The Purple Onion Festival celebrates local food and culture. This year was the eighth annual event, and the fourth year for the Electric City EV Meet.
The EV Society joined in to help the EV meet last year by bringing owner cars to display, which would be in addition to any dealer displays. This was how I became aware of the EV Society, and ended up starting a local chapter.
This year we had the best turnout yet of local EV owners. The team from Plug ‘n Drive was also in attendance offering the public electric vehicle test drives. Fifteen test drives were given out over the day, and multiple people reported back that their next vehicle would definitely be electric!
The event was featured on Global News. Click on the image below and see the section on EVs which starts at 1:20.
The Purple Onion Festival culminates the celebration of Local Food Month in Peterborough City and County. This family event deals with the very serious issue of climate change in every fun way we can think of! Fabulous food, dynamic interactive venues for all ages, music, dancing and fantastic vendors.
