Welcome to EV Society Windsor-Essex
(Formerly known as the Windsor-Essex Electric Vehicle Association)
Chapter President: Pino Mastroianni
Promoting and supporting plug-in electric vehicle ownership in Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, and surrounding regions.
EV Society Windsor-Essex is an active community of close to 150 owners of plug-in vehicles throughout Windsor, Essex County, and Chatham-Kent. We run member meet-ups and public EV awareness events throughout the year and look to support local businesses and municipalities in encouraging EV charging infrastructure. If you are an EV owner in our area, please join us today and become part of our growing community!
EV Society Windsor-Essex started life as the Windsor-Essex Electric Vehicle Association (WEEVA) in August 2013 with 4 members. Formed by Sean Hart, a new Nissan Leaf owner at the time, the idea for the group was conceived at an annual EV event hosted by Green Sun Rising, a local green energy company. Green Sun Rising has hosted EV events since 2010, even before EVs were on sale in Canada, and thus was an EV pioneer in our region. Green Sun Rising has been a strong supporter of our community and EVs in general ever since. WEEVA joined EV Society in early 2017 and re-branded as EV Society Windsor-Essex in October 2018.
