Petro-Canada has been making a big push for their recently launched and quickly growing charging network. Their new ad has been playing on prime-time TV - check it out if you haven't already.
EV Society has also been assisting Petro-Canada in testing stations as they become available to ensure any issues are worked out before official opening dates. Keep an eye out on our social media for any testing dates near you!
Nikola Tesla Electric City Festival
There was an excellent turnout at the Nikola Tesla Electric City Festival in Hamilton in September. EV Society Golden Horseshoe was there with 29 EVs and 1 Zero motorcycle and over 1,000 visitors stopped by! See more photos from the event here.
Orillia Electric Vehicle Weekend
EV Society Barrie-Orillia along with Sustainable Orillia organized an impressive EV display at Orillia Square Mall the weekend of Sep 28. Supported by Plug'n Drive and the Tesla Owners Club, the event had a great public turnout and was covered by local media both online and on TV.
Peterborough Electric City EV Meet
EV Society Kawartha Chapter, with support from Plug'n Drive, Peterborough Mitsubishi, and Trent Valley Honda, hosted a large display of EVs at Peterborough's Purple Onion Harvest Festival. Another great example of how EV Society chapters are working hard to spread awareness of EVs in their local communities!
EV Drive-In Movie
Is there a better way to enjoy a drive-in movie than with an EV? How about an entire lot full of EVs? The Tesla Owners Club invited all EV owners to attend a drive-in movie in Oakville in September and they clearly had a great turnout!
Waterloo Events
Waterloo Region EV Association (WREVA) continues to impress with lots of events to keep the local members busy and engaged. Their Drive Electric Week event featured 106 EVs and over 600 attendees! They support the eMERGE EV Show in Guelph, and toured West 5 in London, the most sustainable new housing development in Ontario. Find out more on their Facebook page!
Mustang EV wins award at Sarnia Car Show
The EV Society Windsor-Essex Chapter arranged for the first EV Society event in Sarnia, participating in the United Way Sarnia Car Show. Local member Stuart Friedrich brought his recently completed EV conversion 1968 Mustang Fastback and managed win the United Way board members award for car of the show (beating out a lot of classic gas cars!). Stuart also recently won a Ford Canada Mustang photo contest, again beating out gasoline cars. More photos available here.
